GREEN SKILLS BOOTCAMP: Allowing manufacturing roles to support the green agenda

NA College have opened their brand new IoT Smart Factory that will be used as a bridge between employer’s skills demand and training/education.

A key objective for all businesses is to meet net zero carbon commitments. Whether you are an employer, an employee or an individual looking to increase your knowledge and understanding of environmental awareness.

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand the engineering manufacturing environment – Specific to high volume production.
  • Understand the importance of sustainability within engineering manufacturing.
  • Demonstrate hand skills in an engineering manufacturing environment – Focusing on speed, dexterity, and quality.
  • Understand the carbon dioxide costs and impacts of everyday activities, and the ability and motivation to reduce missions, on an individual, community, and organisational basis.
  • Understand the different types of EV/HEV vehicles and the safety requirements needed when isolating the power supply before commencing any work on a vehicle or high voltage battery pack.

You’ll gain a recognised qualification

Participants will be required to complete the full programme and upon successful completion will be offered an agility test at a leading manufacturing company, once they pass the agility test, they will move on to the second stage consisting of line trial and interview.

Eligibility

This bootcamp is open to any business or organisation based in County Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, South Tyneside and Sunderland. Students must be 19+

The Skills Bootcamp in Green Skills is part of the Government’s Skills For Life Guarantee, helping everyone gain skills for life. It is supported by the North East LEP.

GREEN SKILLS BOOTCAMP: Developing skills to lead on business improvement projects

NA College have opened their brand new IoT Smart Factory that will be used as a bridge between employer’s skills demand and training/education.

This qualification focuses on the knowledge associated with lean business improvement principles using practical skills to demonstrate understanding of the principles.

Learning outcomes:

  • Contributing to safe team working
  • Contributing to effective team working
  • Contributing to the application of flow process analysis.
  • Contributing to the application of continuous improvement (Kaizen)
  • Contributing to the application of problem solving
  • Contributing to the application of workplace organisation
  • Contributing to the application of visual management
  • Understand the carbon dioxide costs and impacts of everyday activities, and the ability and motivation to reduce missions, on an individual, community, and organisational basis.
